Meet Ashley, LCMHCA
She/Her
Hi, I’m Ashley, and I am so glad you are here!
Reaching out for therapy can feel like a vulnerable step, and I believe that choosing to begin this process is both courageous and meaningful. Life can bring challenges that feel overwhelming at times and having support can be helpful. I often believe in the idea that “growth and comfort cannot coexist”, and while stepping outside of our comfort zones can feel difficult, it is often where meaningful change begins. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and genuinely supported as we work together to better understand your experiences and move toward healing and growth.
My work focuses on promoting developmental wellness and helping individuals strengthen their ability to navigate emotional and executive functioning challenges. I strive to support clients in building insight, developing practical coping skills, and creating meaningful change that improves overall well-being and daily functioning.
My academic journey includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minors in Sociology and Biology from the University of Mount Union (2022), followed by a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Slippery Rock University (2025). My professional background includes outpatient therapy in Pennsylvania, where I had the opportunity to expand my knowledge, working with an intensive outpatient program, after school programs, family therapy, and parent child interaction therapy. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA), my areas of specialization include assisting clients and families with anxiety, depression, ADHD, ODD, stress, life transitions, and various overlapping areas. I value expanding my knowledge of areas through continuing education and make this a priority for myself.
I value working with individuals across the lifespan: children, adolescents, young adults and adults, but find myself drawn to working with children, adolescents, and young adults. I take an integrative and client-centered approach to therapy, recognizing that each person’s experiences and needs are unique. I incorporate evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), play therapy, art-based interventions, reality therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques. I believe therapy should feel collaborative and supportive, and I tailor each session to meet the individual where they are in their journey. Through compassionate, evidence-based care, I aim to help clients develop resilience, self-awareness, and confidence in their ability to navigate life’s challenges.
What I love most about this work is witnessing the strength and transformation that can occur when people feel truly supported. In a world that often rushes to fix or silence pain, therapy offers a place to slow down, reflect, and simply be without judgement. Every session is a reminder that growth is possible, healing is not always linear, and even small shifts can create meaningful change.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I look forward to the opportunity to connect and support you on your journey.
